Long-term Partnership and Continuous Development Model in Commercial Properties – Case Kluuvi
Amerikka Design Office has been a partner since 2018 to Cavendon, the investment manager of the Kluuvi shopping center, located in the heart of Helsinki. The development process for Kluuvi began with concept work, which clarified customer flows and target groups in the Kluuvi environment. This concept work provided a long-term direction for Kluuvi’s development activities. During the concept phase, the commercial potential of the customer flows along Yliopistokatu was identified and aimed to be better utilized.
A restaurant cluster, Kluuvi Kitchen, was opened on the Yliopistokatu side to complement the F&B services. This new dining hub brought additional services, visibility, and a completely new entrance to the center. At the same time, the existing entrance on Yliopistokatu was redesigned to be more striking. The collaboration has continued with the development of the property’s office floors, and new changes are forthcoming in other parts of the shopping center.
